Description

okay, posted more of what i got done today in a more descriptive way, took the screens at school and took them home and compiled them on my home photoshop.

top of this massive 1440x5400 pic (basically a column of 1440x900 screens) is the parts that go on the current barrel assembly. above the thicker, redesigned, rifled barrel with a new threaded extension and a trunnion mount is the new gas piston and drive rod (spring not made yet), gas plug, and adjustable gas block. below is the the two bolts that go directly under the gas block to fit in the notches in the barrel to prevent the block from rotating on the barrel and to secure it in place. gas block is threaded while the notches are not. bolts threaded on two opposing ends to ensure security and allows for putting them through the right or left without any problems. next to that is the newly designed flash compensator now separate from the barrel and has more defined features.

the second picture is a frontal ortho view of the assembled barrel assembly, showing off the inside of the flash compensator, the new rifling, and the settings of the adjustable gas block. big dot stands for standard and full gas for normal operation, small dot is for half gas and is used with suppressors, and X represents no gas and makes the weapon unable to cycle and therefore single shot. the blank side allows for the gas plug to be pulled out of the gas block, allowing for easy disassembly\replacement of the gas plug and removal of gas piston and drive rod (which are now enlarged and separated from each other to allow replacement of the piston head individually from the drive rod).

third picture is the rear end of the barrel, with the back end of the drive rod shown, the new trunnion mount, and the new breech locking lugs.

fourth pic is comparison of assembled barrel assembly to last years fully completed and assembled upper receiver.

fifth pic is side-by-side comparison of the new and old versions, and this time they are in scale of each other. the new 12" barrel over the old 9" really shows, same goes for the thicker barrel profile and more attractive looking flash compensator.

last pic is iso view of the above pic (minus scaling). shows how the front of the foregrip will be a departure of all previous designs due to addition of the new gas block. with this said, there will have to be a major redesign for the front sight, but that will be tomorrow as im clocking out.

understand that this is JUST the barrel assembly and barely the start of the stock upper receiver (the RIS rails and RIS bolts are recycled from last years as there is nothing better i can do with them) - so i have barely scratched the surface as i plan to redesign not only all my weapons, but attachments too.

well theres my work for today (and my monologue), so enjoy
